Heart of Portsmouth rising star Ahmed Adenas proved he has stepped up to the next level.  With only three years boxing experience the 19year old gave all to clinch this year’s England Boxing Development Championship Title (U20 bts).

Ahmed Adenas took on the North of England Champion at 64kg Chris Brown (Olivers Boxing Gym) Manchester.  Adenas attacked from the start with vicious and pain seeking jabs followed with hurtful hooks to head and body.

His relentless assault proved too much for the Northern Champion and he won on a unanimous decision of the judges.

HOP Head coach of the senior boxer Colin Williams heaped praise for Adenas and said over the last three years Ahmed has developed into a champion at HOP.  All the hard work he has put into his training has paid off.

Sami Elslamanabi  who took both the boys from the Sudanese community to HOP and has trained Ahmed and his brother Walid since joining commented – What Ahmed has done tonight is great, he works so hard in the gym, he trains every day and at weekends and all his hard work over the last three years have come to fruition tonight.  We are all very proud of this young man.

Ahmed Adenas commented – I am so proud to win, especially for all the coaches at HOP who have helped me since I joined. I am proud to keep the city of Portsmouth on the boxing map in England.

Head Coach HOP “Q“ Shillingford commented – Ahmed Adenas is a very positive young man, he trains relentlessly and he deserves all that he gets.  He had to use all his experience and fitness to overcome a very strong and seasoned opponent.

The club is very proud in the way both the Adenas brothers have developed over the last three years and look forward to them developing even more.
