Bendle who had boxed the day before against the Welsh ABA Champion Connor Davies, winning 16-5 was disappointed with the result, but could be proud of his achievements this season and how far he has come.

HOP Coach “Q” Shillingford said “it was a great bout, with both boxers landing hard and accurate punches, the decision could of gone either way, it was that close. HOP Coaches and the entire club are very proud of Ben, he has represented the city of Portsmouth, Hampshire and Southern Counties at the highest level at his chosen sport and is a shinning example of what can be achieved through hard work, commitment and discipline. Ben will come again, he completely dominated in this years England championships and has a very exciting future in the sport of amateur boxing.”

“Q” added – At HOP the boxers performance is from a team effort – I would like to thank Colin Williams and Jason Evans and all the coaches at HOP for the great work they are doing with Ben and all the boxers.
