Oliver Fenton (St Edmunds School) lost out on a very narrow split decision at this year’s England Boxing National final. After three nonstop all action packed rounds the judges gave it to the Birtley boxer.
Paris Williams rose to the occasion and did not let her opponent’s record or experience overawe her. Williams gave a champions performance but lost on a points decision of the judges.
Fenton and Williams can be proud of their performance and have proved they can compete at national level.
Harry Bomber Brown (St Edmunds) put in a top performance to outbox and out manoeuvre John Varey (Cirencester Boxing club) in the Bristol Box Cup. A tough bout for Brown who dug deep to win his Gold Medal on a points decision.
