The 14 year old boxer is travelling all over the country and even the world to ensure that she is the number one boxer in the country at her weight and age.
“Q” explains, we took a call on Thursday evening that an opponent had pulled out at a boxing show on Friday night in Macclesfield near Manchester. At a drop of a hat Ebonie accepted the bout straight away and took on Courtney Hughes from Macclesfield ABC (a Former national Champion 2011).
Having travelled 4 and a half hours, Ebonie was in the ring an hour later.
Jones took the opportunity with both hands as she pushed her opponent back with barrage after barrage of fast and very effective combinations to the head and body. Ebonie won the contest comfortably with a point’s decision of the judges and increased her very impressive record of 11 bouts won 10.
“Q” added: Jones is a shining example of hard work and dedication is all about, she is a role model to all in the gym. Ebonie was dropped off at 3:30am that night at her house and was in the gym at 10am the next morning to help me train the minnows session U 10’s.
She then attended local club sparring on Sunday, this athlete is a true champion in the making.
