Heart of Portsmouth Boxing Academy Middleweight (75kg) rising star Eric Nwankwo sensationally KO his opponent peter Flynn( Livermore University ABC), Scotland in the first round of their BUCS semi final on Sunday 9th February 2014 at Coventry University.

Nwankwo win confirms his place in this year British Universities Class B (U20 bts) Final 2014. Which will be taking place at Ponds Forge ISC, Sheaf Street, Sheffield, commencing at 3pm

Head coach of the HOP Senior boxers Colin Williams said; Nwankwo is in great shape, we have worked hard with him for the build up of these championships. Eric Nwankwo will give everything and more, we are all looking forward to the bout, especially Eric.

H.O.P Boss “Q” Shillingford said, Eric Nwankwo preps for this event has been second to none, he has worked very hard in training and fitting in a lot of extra preparation around his work and University Schedule. Nwankwo has a tall order but as always will do his best for his club.

H.O.P are also celebrating another boxing success via Harry Brown and Ollie Fenton who both travelled to Birmingham on Friday 7th February to take on boxers from the midlands.

Ollie Fenton had a very tough bout and was a runner up in a bout that could have gone either way, whilst Harry Brown proved to have too much in the tank for his opponent and ran out a comfortable unanimous decision winner.

Coaches Colin Brown and Matt Fenton were very impressed with both boxers performance.
