Amateur Boxing clubs from London and South of the country will be competing for a place in this year National CYP Final (South).
H.O.P is also celebrating having two of their boxers in the National Semi finals and both will be competing on Saturday 12th November 2011. H.O.P’s last years National CYP runner up Kieran Rodden will take on Yusif safa (Body Shots ABC) and the fast improving Mateus Ziowlski (Charter Academy) will box Wayne Peince (Epsom & Elwell ABC).
Other local Boxers in this year CYP National Semi Final are Alfie Steves (Portmouth ABC) v Karl Davis (Billericay ABC), Joshua Pritchard (Moneyfields ABC) v Jack Budge (Brompton ABC) and Harvey Blair (Gosport ABC) v Daniel Woledge (St May’s ABC).
H.O.P Boss and C.Y.P Semi Final’s Event Manager “Q” Shillingford commented; This will be a great day of Championship Amateur Boxing. For Portsmouth to have 5 local boxers in the CYP National Semi Final is a great feat. All the boxers competing have worked really hard to reach this stage of the competition and have performed very well.
We will see amateur boxing at its very best on Saturday 12th November and many of the boxers competing are either boxing internationally or on the brink of England selection. There will be 27 Semi Final bouts with the winners moving forward to the CYP National final two weeks later.
