SCABA Female Head Coach Rebecca Donnelly was very pleased with the female boxers who attended and the session and commented, the Southern Counties ABA female boxing team worked very hard and showed good skills and ability. They are all excited in boxing for their region against the Western Counties Female ABA. This is the first squad session to the preparation, the second squad session will take palace at SWALES ABC, Kemsley, Village Hall in Sittingbourne, from 2pm – 4pm.
The Southern Counties Female Boxing Team will look to box all the ABA Regions over the next year, at different venues around the country. That way our female boxers will remain active and stay focused, as we develop them for higher competition.
The all female rep match against Western Counties ABA is shaping up nicely; we already have 7 possible matches and are looking for another 5 bouts to complete the show. Donnelly added SCABA would like to thank H.O.P. who has fantastic facilities allowing our boxers to train and come together in one of the best equipped boxing gymnasiums in England. The venue and facilities are exceptional for regional and national squad training. This is fantastic for female boxing in the south, and the females are so dedicated, I have seen some excellent potential.
Southern Counties Regional Secretary and ABA Advanced Coach Shaun MacDonald confirmed Southern Counties are committed to developing and supporting female boxing Divisionally, Regionally and Nationally. Southern Counties ABA are delighted to be hosting the first Female Regional Team Match in the country at Portsmouth, which is proving to be a hotbed for amateur boxing success.
